One thing that I have learnt with the progress of time is that life is tough.
Illness, death of a loved one, children leaving home, losing a job, deterioration of health, ageing, are all just some to the things that life can throw at us. And we aren’t really prepared for all these crises are we? I know I wasn’t.
Our parents do their best to protect us from the harsh realities of life and yet some day we have to grow up and deal with it ourselves. We are protected no longer and as the world intrudes into our lives we are often unprepared and vulnerable.
Often we attempt to live our lives backward.
We want more money to buy a bigger house, a flash car, the latest fashions etc. in the hope that we will be happier and yet strangely all this doesn’t make us happier at all. In fact we are quite miserable in our comfortable lives.
The way life works is in reverse. You must first learn to be who you really are and do what you need to do in order to have what you really want which is to be happy with less stress.
Look in the mirror, who is this woman looking back at you?
Are you lost looking for that certain something that is missing in your life?
What is often wrong is that we are disconnected from an authentic sense of self. If we are happy in ourselves then we can deal with much of what life throws at us.
The heart of our sadness is that we miss the woman we were meant to be.
Somewhere inside your authentic self is waiting for you to find her and touch base.
What do you really want to do in your life? Forget about everyone else and concentrate on you.
