But looking back over my life, I realise that I have often been stuck in my life. And stuckness often came with feeling blue or being out- rightly depressed.
Being stuck is when you cannot move forward in your life, you are stagnant.
You are not happy and you know what you have to do to be happy but you are so full of regret and resentment that you cannot take that first step.
You procrastinate, berate yourself, regret the past and cannot move into a place where you need to be.
You have no motivation in life. You are bored out of your socks and yet you are allowing past events to dictate your present.
For reasons often best known to our unconscious we are afraid to get back on our horse and gallop forward.
We all have fears and regrets in our lives and yet many of us can brush them away, accept them or deal with them and carry on regardless. But some of us can’t.
The past is the past and yet unfortunately many of us are still living our pasts as if they were today.
We are allowing our pasts to repeat on us like too much acid, over and over.
And these repeated patterns are hard to shake. Until one day the pain of being stuck overpowers the pain of the past and we move forward once again.
Does this happen to you?
But what to do? You can seek professional help. Or you can try to help yourself.
Have you tried accepting the past for what it was, the past?
Have you tried having compassion for yourself?
Have you tried to stop blaming others for why things haven’t worked out for you?
Have you tried apologizing to yourself for a life not lived?
If not why don’t you try it today?
Wipe the slate clean, say sorry to yourself for sabotaging your future, put the responsibility for the control of your life into your own hands and get your bum back into the saddle.
